The
Feedback Interactive Animation is currently available for download.
This product graphically simulates the operation of a sump level
feedback control system. This is intended to illustrate basic
feedback loop control.
The
Performance Manager Demo provides the user with a detailed view
of the scope of Performance Manager, a comprehensive maintenance
management system. Downloading this demo will give you the opportunity
to evaluate Performance Associates maintenance management software
system.
1.
Feedback Interactive Animation
- When
you are prompted where to save the file select a folder to
contain the setup file system, for example: C:\SETUP, or C:\TEMP.
- Download
the file.
- Select
Start, Run from the task bar and enter the path and filename,
for example: "C:\TEMP\FEEDBACK.EXE". This will create
the setup files. The default destination location for the
self-extracting "zip" files is "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP".
Either accept the default or enter a different destination,
for example, "C:\TEMP". In any case remember where
the files are located.
- Close
any programs that may be running in Windows.
- Select
Start, Run from the task bar and select the "SETUP.EXE"
program (from the destination location above). Run the program.
The setup program will guide you through the remainder of
the installation process.
To
uninstall the demo select Start, Settings, Control Panel, and
double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. Select FEEDBACK from
the list and click the Add/Remove button.
The
user can make adjustments to Load and Set Point input parameters
and watch the effects. "Time" is highly compressed.
Changes are quickly observed. Switching to "Randomize"
and selecting "Manual mode" presents a real challenge
to the user for controlling the process. The value of feedback
control is quickly realized.
2.
Performance Manager Demo
The
Performance Manager Demo is intended to run under Windows 95,
Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0. Its download file size is approximately
2.2 megabytes. The following steps will guide you through the
installation process.

When you are prompted where to save the file select a folder
to contain the setup file system, for example: "C:/PManagerDemo".

Download the file.

Select Start, Run from the task bar and enter the path and
filename, for example: "C:\PManagerDemo\PMANAGER.EXE".
This will "unzip" the download file and make the
demo available.

You may now run the demo by selecting Start, Run from the
task bar and run "PMANAGERDEMO.EXE" program. Note
that, unlike the Thickener Animation, PMANAGERDEMO does not
require a separate Setup procedure.
